Pets

My sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Pippa, is a great buddy, too. Pets are terrific for cancer patients. Petting her, walking her when I can, having her sleep next to me, is therapeutic. Her excitement when I get home from the doctor makes me feel great, too. She is by my side often, and I love it. I jokingly call her my therapy dog—but it is not a joke. I highly recommend, if you are able, to have a pet during your cancer journey. While this buddy won’t go to your appointments, pets are great for your heart and soul when you are home!
